It's sunny and hot in this beautiful spot. (Jimmy McPhee, eat your heart out at that one!)
I've now done 3 out of 4 on the talks on Nehemiah that I'd felt were right for St Paul's, Summerville. Feedback has been positive, with several people commenting on how prophetic they have been, speaking very much to where the church is at. It's always a great encouragement when that happens. We hadn't liaised at all in terms of preparation, so I can't say that I really know anything about the congregation. It's obviously a case of the Lord speaking to these people.
The leadership team are beginning to arrive for the Renewal Conference, which begins tomorrow night.
It's been fascinating to hear some of the reaction to the recently completed General Convention ECUSA. It seems that the consensus is that some moves will now begin to take place, with whole dioceses seeking alternative primatial oversight, and not only those that have issues over the ordination of women. The question is whether other primates will support these requests.
I have two main concerns now. No 1 is that my stomach is still not right. No 2 is for tomorrow. England play Ecuador at 4pm UK time. It'll be 11am here. I'll be preaching! I guess I'll have to get my priorities right.
