Apparently, U2 are playing in Glasgow tomorrow night. How could I have missed that news? Nah, of course I didn't. After almost thirty years of going to see them live, I couldn't miss this gig. I'll be on the pitch on the left side of the stage for I have a ticket for the Red Zone (all net profits go to helping poor people in Africa, so I can feel a bit better about the whole thing). I'll be one of the old geezers dancing like a nutter (not doing the"daddy" dance which drives the GV kids mad - they'll not be going anyway, so what do I care?).
If the band need a new chaplain for the gig, I am of course available and experienced in this area, having ministered recently to Florence at her gig in Glasgow (that's just a plug in case they or their people are narcisissistic enough to Google themselves every day).
It's been made possible for the whole of the St Silas' staff to go on pilgrimage to this gig, thanks to our dear friend Ali's contacts. The rest of them are in the posh seats. I had to pay for mine, but then I am a true disciple and had to show my deep commitment. I'm not obsessed, honestly.......simply excited.
Hopefully the view is going to be something like this (video sound is a bit pants, but you'll get the idea):
