It's been a tremendous day.
I worshipped with the people here this morning. Really good renewed Anglican worship, with a great mixture of people present, including many Nigerians and a few Ugandans. I felt blessed to be part of such a church, where lively worship, relevant Bible teaching and genuine pastoral concern were all evident.
We thought that today would be the weakest day of Lollapalooza, so we'd planned to go in later. It turned out to be the strongest. We watched and listened to Eli "Paperboy" Reed, a soul singer whose voice and songs left us with huge grins on our face.
Mark Ronson's band was superb. We arrived early and found ourselves near the front of the stage. It was the last night of a sixteen month tour and they were having a ball. So were the crowd. We were left grinning yet again. Sometimes music just does that.
There was a choice of two acts to end the festival with. We began watching Kanye West, but GV Boy had gone off to see Nine Inch Nails at the other end of the park, so we ended our time listening to Trent Reznor's band. Great visuals and music ( though I don't enjoy all his lyrics). GV Boy ended up having a great time in the mosh pit. I stayed at the back of the crowd.........
Time for a rest tomorrow with a good book, though a new friend I met In Jerusalem a few weeks ago has offered to guide us around downtown in the evening.
